Transport Planner
Location: Leeds, LS9 0PS
Salary: £35,000
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team working within our Waste Sector, based at our Leeds/Yorkshire Water office working Monday to Friday.
As a Planner for our Client, you’ll be fundamental to delivery of high quality, cost effective, logistics services driving for excellence.
You will manage and plan the daily workload for the drivers, with scheduling and resource management.

Experience desired: 2 years’ experience in a planning role with the transport & logistic industry.

Your responsibilities will include: Responsible for the development and communication of the daily activity plan using the At our Client planning system.
Ensure the plan achieves the defined KPI parameters and respects health and safety of the team and environmental impact of the operation.
Provide drivers with their route instruction and review the daily completion of plan.
Administer as appropriate the IT systems ensuring that they are updated in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure the plan is updated to reflect changes such as task variation, driver unavailability, traffic restrictions etc. Review planning effectiveness on a regular basis to identify opportunities for improvement in service, cost and resource utilisation.
Liaise with third party resource providers to ensure clarity of requirements and expectations (agency and sub-contract providers).
Provide out of hours on call support (via a rota).
