Site Manager – Quarry Operations

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead front-line operations for our Client, a well-established quarry operation and key supplier of dimensional stone and aggregates in the Kirklees (Huddersfield) region.

As part of a progressive, family-owned group serving the wider Yorkshire area, the Client is seeking a hands-on, safety-first Site Manager to take full ownership of quarrying and daily operations—managing both in-house and contractor teams onsite.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as the site’s Statutory 8.1(c) appointee, ensuring full legal compliance and safety standards.
Oversee all quarrying activities: extraction, production, maintenance, and daily operations.
Deliver performance across HSE, quality, output, and cost control, with strong financial oversight.
Ensure compliance with quarry regulations, environmental permits, and design plans.
Lead and develop a multi-skilled site team—managing training, performance, and recruitment.
Foster strong working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Conduct investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure efficient use of equipment and maintain records, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
Represent company values with a focus on respect, fairness, and inclusion.

Your Background:
Experienced leader from a quarrying, mining, or heavy industry background.
Familiar with Quarries Regulations, geotechnical safety, and statutory inspections.
SHE NVQ Level 3 (or working towards equivalent certification).
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing financials and digital reporting tools.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
